I love all of these parts. But some of them are much more reliable quality than others and therefore demand much less effort, e.g. mashed potatoes are basically always decent or excellent if you're competent (and you can, haters be damned, even save significant effort by leaving the skins on and still make delicious mash).

My list for which of these require the most effort/skill to get the best results:

turkey > ham > pie > stuffing > cranberries > mashed potatoes

You should focus most on getting the turkey to be tolerable, especially if you are doing a traditional roast. Big non uniform bird which tends to be dry anyway = hard.

In my family we're doing ham, salmon, and a couple turkey legs for the die hard traditionalists.

How does this resolve?

@GleamingRhino this resolves on Friday after Thanksgiving (probably in the evening) with the most popular answer. I think we all want to know the most popular choice!

@ImaPerson this is tough. If it's garlic & buttermilk mashed potatoes, this is the answer. But not otherwise. Otoh, there is a wide range in turkey quality because it's the meat most sensitive meat to preparation. So the mashed potatoes could easily end up the least bad part...
