Resolution criteria

This market will resolve based on the official results of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. A "series" is defined as any best-of-seven matchup during the playoffs. For each series, the team located further south will be determined by the latitude of their home arena, as listed by the NHL. If both teams share the same city or have an identical latitude, that series will not count toward the total.

The market will resolve to the total number of series won by the geographically southernmost team, as confirmed by official NHL playoff brackets found at NHL.com/standings.

Background

The geographic location of NHL teams is determined by the latitude of their home arenas. In recent seasons, there has been a notable trend of success for teams located in more southern latitudes. In the 2025 playoffs, the team located further south won 11 out of 15 series; in the 2024 playoffs, they won 9 out of 15 series. The Florida Panthers, the southernmost team in the NHL, won the Stanley Cup in both 2024 and 2025.
