Danganronpa 2x2 was announced during the September 12, 2025 Nintendo Direct. It promises an alternate scenario with the same characters and setting as the original Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (2012), but with different plotting and mysteries. It is scheduled for release some time during 2026.

In the original game, there were five surviving characters at the end of the game. This question concerns the alternate story route that is expected to be introduced in Danganronpa 2x2.

A character will be considered to have survived if they are alive when the end credits of the game roll. If a character is, for example, returned to life in a post-credits scene, they will not be considered a survivor.
