I just ordered a keyboard from Amazon Warehouse Deals. It's condition is marked as "Acceptable". Will I be happy with the condition in which it arrives?

I bought a mechanical keyboard at a nice discount, paying $170 instead of $240.

This is a keyboard I've wanted for a while, I've been keeping an eye out for sales, and when I saw one in the Amazon Warehouse section for $70 off I decided to jump on it.

In the past, I've purchased a P-Bass, a heat gun, some guitar strings, and a few other odds and ends from the Warehouse section and I've been happy with all of them and they always showed up in mint condition like new, but they were always marked as "Used: Good" or better, I've never tried for "Acceptable" before.

I'm pretty easy going, I'm expecting/hoping that just the keycaps are a bit scuffed if anything. If there's a huge scratch on the bottom or somewhere I don't see, I'll consider that more or less what I expected and I'll have been more than happy to trade a scratch on the bottom of a keyboard for $70.

If there's a big scratch or damage across the front of the board or somewhere more visible, or if a lot of the key caps are very scuffed, I'll be a bit disappointed. If it's really bad, I'll return it.

I will ask myself, "If I bought this keyboard brand new, and somebody came up to me and offered me $70 to do this amount of damage to it, would I accept their offer?"

If I return the keyboard, this automatically resolves to NO.

Otherwise, I have to be HAPPY with the condition. Not neutral, not on the fence. I have to be happy that I went with a Warehouse one instead of brand new.

I won't be predicting in this market.

The keyboard will be showing up in a few days.

@DalibanAdjacent Congrats!

my experience concurs with Matt Wilson's.

In my experience - you’ll be pretty happy provided you don’t give a crap about the box condition.

I’ve also heard that with Amazon Warehouse, the picking of which particular item is sent to you isn’t in any way a guarantee. Something like: it’s just easier / cheaper to send you a more local, more likely-acceptable item than put a reservation on one particular box in the entire logistics system. So the item conditions are a “worst case scenario” buffer more than a hard rule.

tl;dr - have ordered similarly from AW several times and been quite satisfied.

Oh gosh, I'm such a lil tease sometimes. I should have mentioned it's a Keychron Q2 in case anyone's wondering.
