I think the best metric is actually 'time to 10 million copies sold', which is very likely to be reported publicly, and was reported for Tekken 7. If this would have changed your bet, would you like me to resolve the market N/A?

I think that's still an ok indicator for popularity, even if not as accurate as a long term portrayal of popularity on release.
