Will Manifold restore in-site notifications for new markets created by people you follow by end of October?

Resolved
YES

For a long time, Manifold gave users (who didn't opt out) notifications when someone they follow created a market (question). A few months ago, they removed this option, with the stated rationale being that such markets would appear in your home feed, I guess. But I don't really get why it can't still be an option, especially since they still have email notifications for this. If Manifold is concerned about spam, I would also count it if this was a daily notification containing all markets made by users you follow (though they still do one per market for email).

Anyway, I would still like this! And unless there's some issue I'm unaware of, it would just reenable a feature that was already present, and could even be opt-in. Will it happen by 6pm PT this October 31?

General policy for my markets: In the rare event of a conflict between my resolution criteria and the agreed-upon common-sense spirit of the market, I may resolve it according to the market's spirit or N/A, probably after discussion.

Thanks to whoever fixed this. Still curious why it was ever removed.

@Austin What’s the technical reason it can’t just be readded?

predictedYES

@Conflux it's not a technical reason, more a product choice? I'm not shipping any code for Manifold atm (busy with Manifund and Manifest), @ian might be sympathetic when he returns from vacation in a week

predictedNO

@Austin oh, ok. Makes sense

predictedYES

I sure hope so!

what else is the point of following??
