Will my newly bought Zowie EC1-DW survive without defects for five years?
In the past, I consistently needed to get a new mouse every two to three years. I have tried many different brands, most of them gaming-oriented. All of them, no matter which brand and - sadly - price range have failed me after some time with either ghost clicks, no clicks or some sort of scroll wheel trouble. I am honestly not expecting this one to be different, but I have read rave reviews concerning their longevity, so who knows?
I am not affiliated in any way with them and I will not bet here. I will resolve this market as yes if no defect occurs in the next five years, and no immediately if I have confirmed a defect, no matter the type. I will ignore expected trouble from wear and tear like reduced battery capacity. I will resolve N/A in the unexpected case that the mouse breaks from some accident, like me spilling something on it or the ceiling collapsing on it. This has never happened to my previous mice, though, of which there have been at least ten.
Small update:
I have used the mouse a lot since I got it, and I mean a lot. It came with two receivers, so the dongle went onto my work laptop and the one with the charger is connected to my desktop PC.
Once, I noticed the scroll-wheel reversing direction for one click at a specific spot, consistently. After shaking the mouse upside down vigorously and blowing some air through it, that went away. Other than that, I had no problems.
I have to say that I really like the mouse so far and I am beginning to believe that five years just might be possible...
