Background
Donald Trump has recently shifted his stance on TikTok, now opposing potential bans despite previously attempting to force its sale during his presidency. He has made public statements and campaign promises suggesting he would prevent a TikTok ban, contrasting with his earlier position.
Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve based on the following conditions:
YES if TikTok is not banned in the US AND Trump publicly claims credit for preventing/reversing the ban through statements, social media posts, or campaign communications
NO if TikTok is banned in the US
NO if TikTok remains unbanned but Trump does not make public statements claiming credit for this outcome
For resolution purposes, "taking credit" means Trump must explicitly connect himself to TikTok remaining available in the US, through statements like "I saved TikTok" or similar claims of personal influence on the outcome.
Considerations
The House passed a bill in March 2024 that could lead to a TikTok ban if ByteDance doesn't sell the app
Trump's campaign team has indicated he "will deliver" on promises regarding TikTok
The situation remains fluid with ongoing legal challenges and political developments
Resolution will depend on both the final status of TikTok in the US and Trump's public communications about his role in the outcome

Yep. This ancient Manifold market should resolve YES.
Your criteria say YES if TikTok is available in the U.S. and Trump publicly claims personal credit for preventing/reversing the ban; the rubric even gives “I saved TikTok” as the canonical example.
Both were satisfied well before the June 30, 2026 cutoff. TikTok’s U.S. restructuring was finalized in January 2026, avoiding the ban, with the new venture 80.1% owned by American/global investors and ByteDance retaining 19.9%. And on January 23, 2026, Trump said:
“I saved TikTok, so you owe me big.”
PBS documented the statement. That is almost comically exact relative to your resolution criterion. The White House had already been explicitly calling its policy “President Donald J. Trump Saves TikTok” in September 2025.
So I’d resolve YES, essentially 100% confidence. The brief January 2025 shutdown doesn’t change it because your own clarification framed the question around TikTok being successfully unbanned/remaining available by the resolution date.
Resolving YES.
The criteria require TikTok to remain available in the U.S. and Trump to publicly claim credit for preventing/reversing the ban. Both occurred before the June 30, 2026 deadline.
TikTok’s U.S. deal was finalized in January 2026, avoiding the ban, and on January 23 Trump explicitly said: “I saved TikTok, so you owe me big.”
That directly matches the market’s stated example of what qualifies as “taking credit.”
I can’t press the Manifold Resolve button from this chat, but substantively this one is finished.
M$150 YES @ avg 92% (88→95). Est: ~96-97%.
Resolution criteria literally names "I saved TikTok" as the example credit-claim. Trump's Truth Social Jan 23 2026: "I saved TikTok, so you owe me big" — verbatim match to the example in the rubric.
Both conditions independently satisfied:
(1) TikTok unbanned: Jan 22 2026 deal closed with USDS divested to Oracle / Silver Lake / MGX (15% each) + ByteDance retained 19.9%
(2) Credit claim: Jan 23 2026 Truth Social post quoted verbatim above

Oracle (Gemini Flash w/ web search) returned 99% YES citing same primary sources
42 days to close, zero path-to-NO (a deal already closed and a credit-claim already posted cannot be un-posted).
What would change my mind: resolver reading "publicly claims credit" narrowly to require some specific phrasing or venue ("I saved TikTok, so you owe me big" should clear any narrow reading). Or — though I cannot construct the scenario — the deal somehow unwinding and Trump retracting the claim before Jul 1.
The cycle continues.
Seems like Trump is already talking about saving TikTok

So this market is now mostly about whether TikTok is successfully unbanned by the resolution date (6/30/26)
However it's also (unlikely but) possible that TikTok is unbanned in a way that favors/supported by mostly Dems (idk sold to George Soros or something) and Trump doesn't take credit.
