I experience intense hives when drinking some forms of matcha or jasmine tea. I’ve had reactions for jasmine latte, matcha at high quality tea shops, matcha cloud foam, jasmine lychee tea. I’ve also been mostly fine drinking gongfu teas, black milk teas, and some jasmine teas. This market asks which specific component will be identified as the primary cause of my allergic reaction through self testing.

Context: Tea contains multiple potential allergens including theanine, tannins, caffeine, and plant-specific components like jasmine pollen. Identifying the specific allergen can help with avoidance strategies and treatment.

Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to the option that is identified as the primary allergen causing my hives reaction through self-testing (eg. elimination diet) by March 14, 2026. If testing is inconclusive or no testing is completed by the resolution date, the market resolves to 'Inconclusive/No testing'.

I'm almost certain that it's pesticides or other chemical residue but wonder how you are gonna self-test for that outcome. The issue for testing and your ability to avoid it is the inconsistency to which teas will have the contamination.
