Will the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom be "harder" than Breath of the Wild?

YES

Up to my subjective judgment. Strict length of required play wouldn't count here - I'm thinking of "harder" as in the difficulty of defeating the average enemy, boss fights, puzzles to solve, etc.

Don't predict if you can't stand some subjectivity!

My sense was that the games were roughly comparable, but that TotK was harder than BotW in certain categories.

- General enemies: Slightly harder due to variety - more attack patterns from different creatures to figure out. Introduction of e.g. rock armor introduced an added level of difficulty.
- Bosses: Comparable
- Puzzles / quests: Comparable
- General Gameplay: Much 'harder' or at least more complex in TotK. Fuse, Ultrahand, Recall, and Ascend added significant strategic complexity and depth to the game in a way that I didn't feel that the BotW powers required

LMK if anyone disagrees and would like to argue for a change to the resolution!

this is correct solely because i can't spam bombs anymore, and a lot of the puzzles you have to think pretty clearly about physics.

Puzzles seem a little easier, average enemy seems a little harder, boss fights seem somewhat comparable. On the whole, so far it seems like very similar difficulty to me (though bigger and longer)

@JimHays Interesting, lots of the puzzles to me have been kinda inscrutable

@TiredCliche A larger percentage of the shrines seem to be tutorials, both explicitly (here’s how to do x combat technique) and implicitly (here’s a new Zonai device that you’re going to need, and here’s how to use it).

@JimHays Apparently the adjustable difficulty is more aggressive, so while the average enemy seemed harder, that was in part because I came in already skilled at fighting them. Players who were newer to the game/not as skilled at combat would have had easier enemies

Fire Emblem engage was much easier than 3H, and BOTW was more difficult than the other games since at least MM (so I'd expect some mean-reversion). 70% seems high.
