Use the headline seasonally adjusted manufacturers' and trade inventories month-over-month percent change from the first May 2026 MTIS release. A reported change of +0.3% or higher resolves YES. A reported change of +0.2% or lower, 0.0%, or any negative value resolves NO. Do not use the inventories/sales ratio, total sales, retail sales, advance retail inventories, wholesale-only inventories, manufacturers-only inventories, nominal dollar levels without the reported MoM percent change, forecast consensus, or later revisions unless Census corrects the initial May 2026 release before resolution. If the May 2026 MTIS release is delayed, wait for the first Census release containing the May 2026 headline business-inventories MoM percent change unless there is no such release by July 23, 2026, in which case resolve N/A.
