I've been really into Chess (the musical) for a while, but with my enjoyment mostly focusing on Freddie. It seems to me that there's objectively a lot to like about Florence, who's arguably the main character, but nothing about her has hit me just right yet to make me go crazy about her; I mostly end up kind of unendorsedly dismissive.

Still, I've had dramatic shifts in my experience of Chess before - there was about a year where I'd only listened to the first act or so, and even though I listened to it pretty often I just never moved onto the second until I made a concerted effort to do so! (This was in the spring of this past year, and my brain works pretty strongly in yearly cycles, which is why the early split in the options for this market.)

Additionally, Chess is somewhat unusual in that productions are often completely different from each other, changing major plot points, timelines, timespans, song order, and characterization - and I've only exposed myself to a small handful of versions; it's plausible that somewhere out there is the performance that'll make me 😍 about Ms. Nobody's Side.
