The Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) is an intergovernmental regional organization that once comprised twelve South American countries. Between 2018 and 2020, most of its former members suspended or withdrew their participation in the bloc, and Secretary General and Presidency pro tempore became vacant. In 2019 a new group, PROSUL/PROSUR, was created comprising some of UNASUR’s former members; as of Jan. 2023, only Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela were active members. (Wikipedia)

In his inauguration speech on Jan 1st, 2023, Brazilian president Lula proposed the revitalization of UNASUR as a forum for regional integration between South American countries. (Source)

This market resolves as YES if at least one high-level summit (defined as any meeting attended by 6 or more chancellors or head of states from member states) is held by the end of 2023 within the scope of UNASUR governance. It resolves NO otherwise.

This does not seem likely to happen; while there was a well attended summit this year, it was not under the scope of UNASUR.

@RobertCousineau I don't know much about South American supranational entities though, so not betting too confidently (and would love if someone who knows more comments).
