Resolution criteria:

This market will resolve to "Yes" if, during the Trump administration, any official economic data released by the administration is demonstrably proven to be misleading or false. This includes instances where:

  • Economic statistics are intentionally manipulated.

  • Independent fact-checking organizations or reputable media outlets provide evidence of false economic data published by the administration.

The market will resolve to "No" if no such instances are verified during the Trump administration or the following year into the next administration.

  • Update 2025-05-05 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): This market focuses on important official economic statistics, such as:

    • Inflation data

    • Job market data

The market will not resolve based on off-the-cuff statements made by Trump or other officials.

  • Update 2025-06-04 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The creator has indicated that the following scenario might qualify as intentionally manipulated economic statistics:

    • Staff layoffs at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), if there is evidence of intentionality to ensure misleading economic data.

I don't consider this quite there yet but if there was any evidence of intentionality to staff layoffs at BLS to ensure misleading economic data then that might qualify here.

Some clarification, this market is about important official economic statistics, such as those in inflation data or on the job market, and will not resolve due to off-the-cuff statements by Trump or other officials.
