Background
Both No. 4 Texas Tech (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) and No. 11 BYU (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) are competing for their first Big 12 title, with an automatic berth to the College Football Playoff on the line. Texas Tech leads the all-time series 2-1, including a 29-7 victory at home earlier this season. Texas Tech has won 11 games by at least 20 points this season, making them only the sixth team in the past 100 years to achieve this. Texas Tech enters as -11.5 favorites on the initial listing with -455 odds to win on the Moneyline.
Considerations
In their first meeting, BYU managed only 255 total yards on offense and had their rushing attack bottled up to just 67 yards against Texas Tech's formidable front seven. Texas Tech averages over 40 points per game with one of the most high-octane offenses in the sport and deploys one of the nation's best defenses.
