Background

This question is similar to my previous question, How many CAO points will I score on my school's mock LC?, except with the actual Leaving Cert. When a student applies to a university through the CAO, their grades are passed through the below table, with the top 6 being summed for a scalar value.

For example, my mock result was calculated as: 125 (maths H1) + 100 (app maths H1) + 100 (DCG H1) + 88 (physics H2) + 77 (chemistry H3) + 37 (english O3) + 28 (irish O4) = 527. Note the bonus received in higher level maths, and how irish was excluded from the sum as it was my 7th best subject.

Resolution Criteria

I will resolve to the number of points I get by my own calculation as soon as I get my Leaving Cert results back.

• OL Irish

• HL Maths

• HL Chemistry

• HL Physics

• HL Design & Communication Graphics

  • Contains a project worth 20% of the grade that wasn't part of my mocks.

• HL Applied Maths

  • Contains a project worth 20% of the grade that wasn't part of my mocks.

• HL Polish

  • I am a native speaker, although I do have some trouble due to being a young migrant.

  • No mock exam was offered for this one. The exam is divided as 30% oral, 25% aural, 25% reading, and 20% writing. The difficulty level is approximately similar to exams for German/French/Italian.

• I will not be betting on this question as the outcome is in a way influenced by my own actions.
