Per tweets like this describing AirBnB co-founder Brian Chesky's keynote at Figma's FigJam conference:

The posture is that AirBnB has either made the Product Manager role redundant and moved PMs either into design roles (or Eng managers) or terminated them from the company.

Will AirBnB reinstate the Product Manager role as a distinct role similar to other tech companies by Q2 2024?

Resolution: AirBnB has active Product Manager employees by Q2 2024, or there is a confirmation before Q2 2024 of "nuances" to this decree that indicate the PM role was never formally made completely redundant.

@AashiqDheeraj77eb message him and ask if it's internal or if he just hasn't updated linkedin

predicted YES

@JackHarmening The change to eliminate the PM function was a while ago. He started in 2022 as a PM, so I don't think having forgotten to update LinkedIn is a compelling explanation. There are a lot of people holding themselves out as PM's externally. Perhaps they are being disingenuous and will face pressure from Airbnb to update this description. However, I contend that these are people who see themselves as PM's, are probably acting as PM's, and probably will seek to be PM's if they leave Airbnb -- so it is Airbnb that is being disingenuous about the elimination of this function.

That being said, I can definitely dm some of these people to get clarification!
