My laptop battery was going bad, so I took it out for safety. Will I accidentally unplug the laptop without powering it off before the new battery arrives (ETA Sep 3 - 7?)

I typically move my laptop 2-4x per day.

The laptop feels noticeably lighter and more hollow with the battery missing.

Question closes when I either get a new battery, or accidentally unplug it without powering off first.
