This is the second time this article has been posted under a market about TIOBE. I really can't figure out what justifies the claim that TIOBE is so "useless". All the complaints seem to be about the metric being noisy. Perhaps it is, but this doesn't make it useless as a metric.

The market title asks for the most popular language. Tiobe is not that.

Visual Basic is not the #7 most popular language in the world, on any metric that would have any real-world application. Likewise, TypeScript isn't #44. Both of those Tiobe rankings bear no relation to popularity of those languages in 2024.

The article also provides a number of far more reliable metrics. Please just use one of those.

Indeed, you can already find markets that track some of those metrics, and you are of course welcome to make more markets yourself if you'd like.

Why is Javascript so low on the list ?

@HarishGanesan dont know, people need more faith in Javascript

@AmmonLam Is there a compelling reason it should grow in the next year, or that the languages above it should shrink by enough to drop under it?

@BoltonBailey By usage, I think Javascript is well ahead of every other one of these. I think this index is measuring something else.
