My wife and I accidentally booked a hotel room for the right date but in the wrong month. We prepaid and the payment was nonrefundable. We called Expedia within five minutes of this happening for help. They called the hotel but because it was night at the hotel's location, nobody with required authority was available. Expedia will call them again tomorrow. We contacted the hotel directly as well.
Other context:
My wife had platinum status with Expedia
We already had a refundable booking with the same hotel but were trying to get a room in a higher category and then cancel the refundable room. We told the hotel this.
Update 2025-12-20 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): In case of a partial refund, the market will resolve to the refund percentage (e.g., 50% refund = 50% resolution).
Update 2025-12-20 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The market will not resolve before December 26 (when the creator stays at the hotel), as an in-person conversation might change any previous decision about the refund.

We are at the hotel now. The staff is super friendly and claimed Expedia never contacted them. They are supposedly seeing what they can do for us and didn't charge us on check-in for the room. They want to see if they can in fact use the payment from the wrong booking in January to pay for the room as we requested. Other we'll have to pay on checkout. So, still no clear resolution.
@AlexanderTheGreater does partial refund resolve YES or NO? will the market be extended if there's no response by Dec 22?
@Hakari about extension: we are staying at the hotel on Dec 26. Now that I think about it, I really shouldn't resolve before then, since a conversation in person might changes a previous decision.
@AlexanderTheGreater I'm pretty new to manifold so idk how resolving to a % other than 0 or 100% works. I'll defer to you and other holders.
