Resolved by me asking him. Market is void if Nuno bets (in either direction), which means he has an option to kill the market if he wants. I'll ask him in January.

I intend to interpret 'automated system' pretty loosely, a google alert would count, as would a custom written script. Him spending a lot of time on twitter does not count, him manually typing 'willing to bet' into the EA forum search bar on a regular basis does not count.
