in my Big Kink Survey (n=a gajabillion), I asked people
"Have you had an officially administered IQ test?"
If they said yes, I gave them a second question asking "what was the result?"

I'm eliminating any answers below 85 and above 155 to avoid outliers pulling the avg around

What do u predict the average reported IQ was?
~9% of people who took the survey, answered this question.

@Aella do you think that’s because the subset of people who have both taken an official IQ test and answered an online kink survey are more likely to have high scores - or because of misreporting?

@AviWoodwardKelen It must be at least in large part the former

@AviWoodwardKelen My guess is most people who've taken an official IQ test did so because there were strong signs already that they were smart

@Aella Yes, that’s likely true. Or at least part of the story. I suspect there’s a bimodal situation where people who have taken an official IQ test did so because there was signs that they were either highly gifted or highly impaired (a particularly bad score can get one disability assistance where I am from).

When does this resolve?

Datapoint: in Scott Alexander's annual survey the average reported IQ is consistently around 130-135 (IIRC)
