In my survey, n= a gajabillion, I ask people about their beliefs in the supernatural.
I'm looking at two groups: women who selected 'autism' in a list of checkboxes about what mental illnesses they have, vs women who did not select that box.
If more autistic-reporting women find the supernatural at least 'slightly' plausible (in my question asking about supernatural beliefs) compared to non-autistic-reporting women, I'll resolve this 'yes'.
If not, I'll resolve 'no.'
I haven't looked at the answer yet.
I have a feeling that the majority of autism reporters across genders use it in the meme sense to mean rational, nerdy, introverted, nonconforming rather than the actual diagnosable mental disorder.
It would be interesting to somehow separate the authentic autists from the fakes. I think I might have the same answer either way though.
