Resolution criteria

Each listed mixed doubles pair will resolve to "Yes" if they reach the semifinals of the 2025 US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, scheduled for August 19-20, 2025. Official results will be verified through the US Open's official website: US Open Mixed Doubles Championship.

Background

The 2025 US Open has introduced a revamped mixed doubles format, moving the event to Fan Week (August 19-20) and featuring 16 teams. Notable pairs include:

  • Emma Navarro & Jannik Sinner: Navarro, a rising American talent, partners with Sinner, the Italian world No. 1.

  • Zheng Qinwen & Jack Draper: Zheng, the 2024 Olympic gold medalist, teams up with Draper, a 2024 US Open semifinalist.

  • Jessica Pegula & Tommy Paul: Both top-ranked Americans, Pegula and Paul bring strong singles credentials to their partnership.

  • Jasmine Paolini & Lorenzo Musetti: This Italian duo combines Paolini's consistency with Musetti's flair.

  • Elena Rybakina & Taylor Fritz: Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, pairs with Fritz, a top American player.

  • Mirra Andreeva & Daniil Medvedev: Andreeva, a teenage sensation, joins forces with former world No. 1 Medvedev.

  • Madison Keys & Frances Tiafoe: Both Americans are known for their powerful games and deep Grand Slam runs.

  • Aryna Sabalenka & Grigor Dimitrov: Sabalenka, the reigning Australian Open champion, partners with the experienced Dimitrov.

  • Iga Swiatek & Casper Ruud: Swiatek, a multiple Grand Slam winner, teams up with Ruud, a consistent top-10 player.

  • Paula Badosa & Stefanos Tsitsipas: The couple, both top-30 players, previously won the 2024 US Open Mixed Madness event.

  • Emma Raducanu & Carlos Alcaraz: Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, pairs with Alcaraz, the 2022 champion.

  • Belinda Bencic & Alexander Zverev: Bencic, an Olympic gold medalist, teams with Zverev, a former world No. 2.

  • Olga Danilovic & Novak Djokovic: Danilovic partners with compatriot Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion.

  • Taylor Townsend & Ben Shelton: Townsend, known for her net play, teams with rising star Shelton.

  • Sara Errani & Andrea Vavassori: The defending champions of the 2024 US Open Mixed Doubles event return to defend their title.

  • Naomi Osaka & Nick Kyrgios: Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, pairs with the enigmatic Kyrgios.

The tournament features a condensed format with short sets and no-ad scoring, aiming to attract top singles players and enhance fan engagement. (usopen.org)

Considerations

The new format has drawn criticism from doubles specialists, who argue it prioritizes entertainment over competitive fairness. Reigning champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori have expressed concerns about the changes. (reuters.com)

@105du i'm confused. why did dimitrov/aryna resolve NO while the other drop-outs have resolve NA?

@polymathematic Not gonna lie its because I decided I wanted my liquidity back because almost no one traded on this market, but the other reasoning is because both Sabalenka and Dimitrov aren't playing as Sabalenka decided to not repair after Dimitrov's pec injury, whereas in all of the other pairs that broke up, at least one of the players were deciding to repair or had already repaired (except for Pegula and Tsitsipas), but Pegula was deciding on repairing I think

Honestly Sabalenka and Dimitrov should resolve N/A instead of No, perhaps @mods could help with that

@105du yeah, totally get that. not sure if there's a timing limitation, in which case maybe mods are required. in my atp matches market I can click on the three dots next to a given pairing and I can select unresolve.

I will say, I had hoped to profit off the drop-outs precisely because I got caught by the dimitrov withdrawal on the us open semi market. I think it's fine to have a standard like "this person/pairing didn't make the semi so they resolve NO (regardless of the reason they don't make the semi)" and I think it's fine to have a standard like "if a person/pairing doesn't begin the tournament, they resolve NA." but I think the line between those two standards got blurred here. for what it's worth, I think the best standard is that players/pairings that withdraw before the beginning of the tournament should be NA'd, while players/pairings that lose of withdraw during the tournament should resolve NO.

@polymathematic Yeah true, thx for the suggestions, I will keep in mind for my future markets

@105du I'm sure this is annoying, but could you NA the collins/Harrison option? I bought a bunch of NO when it was listed as the updated sinner pairing since I figured there was no way he was going to play today after dropping out of cinci yesterday. but I think you just changed the name from sinner/siniakova to collins/Harrison...

@polymathematic I did, 🤣 i don't know what to do at this point with all of these cancellations, sure I'll N/A it and re-add

@traders There are 8 seeded pairs, and 6 wildcard pairs. I will rename the betting options to reflect this change. Additionally, one other pair, Venus Williams and Reily Opelka have been accepted as a wildcard, so I will add them to the list.

bought Ṁ20 NO

@105du Amanda Anisimova and Holger Rune are also added as the #5 mixed doubles seed.

@traders there have been updates to the mixed doubles teams. Here is the link to the new entry list: https://www.usopen.org/en_US/news/articles/2025-07-29/2025_us_open_mixed_doubles_championship_takes_shape_with_14_team_acceptances.html

Pairings that no longer exist will resolve N/A.

@traders Grigor Dimitrov has withdrawn from the US Open Men's Singles Draw and Mixed Doubles draw due to the pectoral injury he sustained during his Wimbledon Fourth Round match against Jannik Sinner.

Thus, 🇧🇾 Aryna Sabalenka + 🇧🇬 Grigor Dimitrov (8) resolves No. Aryna Sabalenka may find another partner to compete in the Mixed Doubles draw, but will not be competing with Grigor.
