Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to whichever event occurs first:

• "LIRR Strike Ends": This outcome resolves "YES" when the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and the relevant labor unions officially announce a contract agreement or a return to service, effectively ending the work stoppage that began on May 16, 2026. Official confirmation from the MTA (https://new.mta.info/) or reputable news outlets (e.g., https://www.newsday.com/, https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/) will be used as the source of truth.

• "NY State Budget Voted": This outcome resolves "YES" when the New York State Legislature passes the final budget bills for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, and the legislation is enacted. Official announcements from the New York State Senate (https://www.nysenate.gov/) or Assembly (https://nyassembly.gov/) will be used as the source of truth.

If both events are finalized on the same day, the event whose official announcement or legislative vote occurs earlier in the day will be considered the winner. If one event has already occurred at the time of market creation, this market resolves based on the remaining event.
