I'm honestly curious how manifold will ever run at scale. There are alot of unpatchable mana exploits that can't really be fixed unless cheat detecting algorithms are employed.
@JeromeHPowell Well, with alt accounts there are alot of ways to farm mana. I was just curious what method he used.
@Velaris yeah, he just created negative account balances with alts in unlisted markets basically I think
@Velaris with manifold userbase being at all time low, I kinda doubt operating on scale is on the table.
@ProjectVictory Sadly, it is so. What do you think manifold would need to do to be popular? Is it possible?
@Velaris I'm not sure. I've seen many online projects that aren't motivated by greed and appealing to the lowest common denominator fail in the last decade. People with money want either a platform where they can control the narrative or a platform that makes more money, manifold's concept is bad for both. And normies what something simpler, prediction markets will never be very mainstream.
@Velaris due to him mana trading was paused in the site was completely reset to an early version that day
@Velaris yep, more scary than impressive though, it really showed how easily manifold could be exploited
@JeromeHPowell What on earth could have crashed the site? It wasn't the developers taking it off line?
@Velaris he didn’t crash it, they just paused all mana activity (trading, managrams) and then reset the site by 5 hours
