The German smart meter rollout has been comparably slow and late.
Every year the regulating agency publishes a market overview covering the previous year called the "Monitoringbericht"^1.
This years market overview is expected in autumn and covers among others the amount of installed smart meters (so called "Intelligente Messsysteme" as defined by national law). Last years report contained the following numbers on page 203^2:
Installed smart meters in 2021: 133 460
Installed smart meters in 2022: 272 024
This market resolves with the publication of this years monitoring report on the official website (link 1) sometime in autumn and thus the publication of the official smart meter rollout figures for 2023.
Because of the potential ambiguity, consider using international thousands separators (spaces), instead of the German period (.), as English-speaking countries use a comma (,) as their thousands separator
@PeterNjeim Agree. I mindlessly copied the notation from the German documents. Changed to the international standard of using a small empty space symbol.
