Does MY mom know who Sam Altman is?
I will talk to my mom next Saturday (1 week from today) and ask her a simple question, “Who is Sam Altman?”. If she says, “The CEO of OpenAI”, this market will resolve YES. If she says, “I have no idea”, resolves NO. I'll count close-enough responses like "The creator of ChatGPT" as YES, but wouldn't count "Someone related to AI."
This market can be a rough gauge of how much of a household name Sam Altman is.
Some facts that may influence your betting:
My mom is in her early sixties, and currently works for the government (in a non-technical role).
She often watches the news in the evening, which can be some combination of CNN, FOX, and MSNBC.
I haven't ever mentioned Sam Altman to her, and she hasn't mentioned him to me.
She certainly knows what ChatGPT is, and has even used it before, but she likely hasn't gone out of her way to research it, understand who owns it, or how it works.

3.00I called and have the answer! She initially said she didn't recognize the name, but when I pressed for a guess she said she thinks she has something to do with tech, in her words "like an Elon Musk type figure". I then pressed her further to guess what area of tech, and she said finance.
Seeing that she did not know who he is, resolves NO!
