Background
In August 2023, 323 virus samples went missing from a Queensland laboratory, including samples of Hendra virus, Lyssavirus, and Hantavirus. This incident is considered a major biosecurity breach and is under investigation. This event is considered by investigators a “major historical breach of biosecurity protocols.”

I am a man living in metropolitan Calgary, Canada - 12724 kilometers away from the site of the incident. Will these missing viruses end up affecting me personally?
Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve YES if any of the following occur before December 20th, 2025:
I become infected with any of the missing viruses (Hendra, Lyssavirus, or Hantavirus)
I am directly impacted by an outbreak traced to these specific missing samples (e.g., required to quarantine, receive preventative treatment, etc.)
I suffer demonstrable personal harm (financial, physical, or otherwise) that can be directly attributed to these missing samples
These samples evolve into a 28 days later like virus and I have to fend for myself in a post apocalyptic wasteland Canada.
The market will resolve NO if none of the above occur by December 20, 2025.
Considerations
Experts indicate the risk is extremely low because:
Virus samples degrade rapidly without proper cold storage
These viruses have limited person-to-person transmission capability
There have been no human cases of Hendra or Lyssavirus in Queensland in the past 5 years
No confirmed Hantavirus infections have ever been recorded in Australia
Queensland Chief Health Officer John Gerrard has stated there is "no evidence of risk to the community"
The investigation is ongoing, and new information could emerge that changes the risk assessment
I also live 12000+ km away from the site of the incident. BUT
All that is similar to what I said about Covid-19.
