Resolution criteria

The market resolves YES if Deni Avdija is selected to play in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game on February 15, 2026, at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Selection occurs through fan voting (50%), player voting (25%), and media voting (25%) for starters, with reserves selected by NBA head coaches. If the selection process does not yield the required number of international players, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will make additional selections to complete the rosters. Resolution can be verified at NBA.com All-Star.

Background

Avdija is an Israeli player for the Portland Trail Blazers. This season he is averaging 25.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game. In the second Western Conference fan voting returns, he ranked seventh with 1,224,109 votes, finishing ahead of Kevin Durant and LeBron James. If selected, Avdija would become Israel's first-ever NBA All-Star.

Considerations

The 2026 All-Star format features two U.S. teams and one World team, a new structure that could benefit international players like Avdija. Portland's recent freefall in the standings—dropping to 14-20 and sitting 10th in the Western Conference—may hurt Avdija's chances, as team success can factor into close decisions. Historically, only 10 players since 2018 have been in the top 7 vote-getters of their conference and missed the All-Star roster.
