Background
Friendsgiving potlucks typically feature multiple dishes shared among friends, with salads being a common contribution. The consumption rate of dishes at potlucks can vary significantly based on factors like timing, portion size, and overall menu composition.
Resolution Criteria
The market will resolve to YES if more than 50% of the salad (by volume or weight) is consumed before all guests have had an opportunity to serve themselves. Resolution will be based on visual inspection or measurement of remaining salad compared to initial quantity.
Things to Consider
Timing of when the salad is served relative to other dishes
Total number of guests attending
Size/portion of salad prepared
Competition from other dishes at the potluck
Placement of salad on serving table
Type of salad and its appeal (hearty vs. light, unique vs. traditional)
Whether individual portions are pre-plated or served family-style
Duration of the meal/event
Risk Mitigation
Consider these strategies to ensure fair distribution:
Divide salad into multiple serving bowls
Serve salad in stages or later in the meal
Prepare a larger quantity than initially planned
Use individual portion containers
Place salad strategically among other dishes
Possible clarification from creator (AI generated): Due to uncertainty in the initial weight measurements, this market will resolve as N/A as the creator cannot confidently determine if more than 50% of the salad was consumed.
@MikalaSterling I’m not really sure. I weighed it before but I think I may have missed the top of a 7 in the scale (the bowl was v wide and covered the top of the readout) and mistook it for a 1, because all said and done the scale says only a few ounces were eaten but that seems like a mistake from what actually looked like happened. I guess I’ll resolve N/A because I don’t trust my scale readings
