We are planning to replace the daily free market with some other form of daily stimulus tentatively called a login bonus. That may not be the best name though. Is there anything better? I'll resolve the question once the stimulus begins. Jun 30, 2:33pm: note: accessing the site will be a requirement for gaining the stimulus.

Planning on resolving to NA unless dissenting opinion presents itself...

@1 The gospels don't go into this but a recently discovered scroll shows that Judas made 20 pieces of silver from the prediction market on when Jesus would die.
TBD on if we implement this! I'd hate to resolve n/a though as there are some v good ideas here. As a resolve to market prob wasn't expected I may choose that route if we don't end up implement thid unless anyone objects.

@ian any update on resolution?

The only option. "Give us this day our daily mana..."
I tentatively like this one
@wasabipesto Oops, I thought that's what we were naming in this market.
Selling my shares because I’m being careless.
@Angela this is clever
@Angela I actually like just calling it "mana", I feel like it's clear from context which is meant
This echoes "free markets" in a way that's clear overall
If the login bonus is ephemeral [I guess... bonus points for accuracy if you get double on day 6 and it holds over til day 7], it'd have some consistencies with the mana in Exodus 16.
I wonder if this verse might have anything to do, theologically, with the bread and body of Christ, given that Jesus says "I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” [John 6] [he is certainly not speaking of prediction markets]
I also think that tying the bonus to participating in betting, market creation, etc is a pretty good idea, and then it would no longer be a "login bonus" exactly.
@MichaelWheatley I agree. A "Daily Login Bonus" is what abusive free-to-play games have.
It’s a good name! We should embrace it.
e.g. "Please wait. I need to engage with Manifold Markets today to receive my reward unit."
@wasabipesto I had been making my pitch against it in the Discord, which prompted this market: "i don't like calling it a 'login bonus.' It sounds kind of low rent." "Branding wise, free markets had the advantage of making it sound like you were just trying to encourage the creation of interesting new markets." "Whereas login bonus comes across like a ftp game trying to bribe users with fake currency." "To be clear, I like the feature, just not the name. If you present the login bonuses as 'Try out all our features! Here's M$50 to ____' it would be fixed in my eyes."
@MichaelWheatley I think eventually we should have daily/weekly quests, and maybe this could be tied in at that point.
Clear, concise, descriptive. You get it when you log in, seems like a no-brainer.
2 in 1: spreads the good word and easy to understand. Doesn't imply you have to access the site though, which is a requirement to receiving the bonus.
