As of July 8th, 2024, there are 63 congressionally designated national parks.
The new park or parks do not have to be within states, but must be on territory controlled by the United States federal government, as is already the case.
Will Resolve to Yes if:
- The number of national parks on December 31st, 2040, is greater than 63
- Included parks contain land not currently within the existing 63
However, if the change is in name only — for example, if the Sawtooth National Forest were re-designated as a national park, but there was no new construction or even a change in signage — that would not count.
