I own a Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH. It is a guitar with a very flat fingerboard radius (15.75"/400mm) and what are allegedly jumbo frets, though they have been levelled a bit. I have owned it now for a bit more than half a year, and all that time it has had strings of gauge 10-46 on it. This is my first guitar and I am a beginner guitarist. I am a girl. I do not have gorilla-sized hands, but I am told my fingers have a bit of that pianist thing. I do have another guitar which has always had 9-42's on it, but I play it much less and it has rather fucked up action and a radically different neck in all respects, so it's been hard to draw conclusions.

As of roughly today (2025-07-11), I have drastically lowered the action on the guitar by 0.5mm across the board; the high E string is now somewhere between 0.9mm and 1.0mm above the 12th fret, and I don't know quite where the low E string is, but it's presumably a few tenths of a millimetre higher. In part to compensate a bit for the reduced travel distance, I also restrung from 10-46 strings to 9-42 strings. These are a lot slinkier, especially noticeable on the lowest strings. I am not sure whether I like this or not.

Both guitars are usually in E standard, but I am told that my favourite band do drop D a lot.

Assuming that I do not make any more big changes to the action, and that I may want to try restringing a few more times, what string gauge will I have settled on in a bit more than three months from now? Note that you can add your own answers, like additional hybrids.
