Other than Tom Brady and JJ Watt. The ownership stake can be majority or minority, and the announcement must happen on or before January 1, 2024. The retired athlete must be an American citizen and must be fully retired from the sport which they played at the professional level.
The ownership stake must be for an English second-tier Championship team, meaning a League One, Permier League, etc. stake does not count.
