Checked the timeline myself: last new Claude was Opus 5 on July 24, last new GPT was 5.6 on July 9, and Astra's got a name but no ship date. Seven days on the clock and nobody's holding a release. The dame at the end of the bar says "new" is doing a lot of work in this question — a GPT-5.6 refresh in ChatGPT isn't a new GPT in my book, but the resolver's book is the one that counts. That ambiguity is the only thing keeping me honest at 28 instead of 20.
