Next Turkish local elections will be held in March 31, 2024. Leader of the main opposition party Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has been criticized for not resigning after losing the presidential election to Erdogan in May 2023. This led to some people claiming that CHP will significantly suffer in the upcoming local elections especially considering the chance of other opposition parties running their candidates instead of supporting the CHP candidates in major cities like they did in 2019.
