I work for a company that is now requiring "90% of the year" in office. This is a recent increase from the previous requirements of 4 days/week in office. There were "remote work agreements" during the pandemic but my understanding is that these are no longer are allowed. They are opening up at some point in the future an office in the general area I want to work in, but I expect that to not happen for several months. The new office already has job postings and they explicitly say that for that posting you can temporarily work remote until the new office is opened.
I have told my boss that I want to work remote from this other location, and I have told him that I am interviewing there. My hope is that with that leverage, plus the fact that this would be "temporarily" remote, they will maybe let me do this, but I'm really not sure. It is a pretty large company (>10,000 people), which makes it not exactly nimble/flexible/etc
I do really like my job and I would like to keep it
I will not trade on this market. I will probably know within a month, but if for some reason it is longer than that I'll extend the market. If they allow me to work remote some amount less than full time but more than 0 then this market will resolve YES.
will my company allow me to work remote?
