On September 5, 2025, OpenRouter added two "stealth models", one called "Sonoma Sky Alpha" and the other "Sonoma Dusk Alpha". In this blog post there is speculation about which company/organization created the former model, with some claiming Google, some claiming xAI, and the model itself claiming "Oak AI" (which happens to be the name of an actual company).

If the creator of the Sonoma Sky Alpha model is publicly known for certain by December 31, 2025 at midnight UTC then it resolves to the name of the creator. Otherwise it resolves to N/A.
