"Dune: Part Two" releases on March 1st. In total, it will be in theaters for 7 weekends before Tax Day (April 15th).
March 1-3
March 8-10
March 15-17
March 22-24
March 29-31
April 5-7
April 12-14
This market resolves YES if "Dune: Part Two" is not one of the 5 highest (domestic) grossing films for any of these weekends. Otherwise, it resolves NO.
Source: I will use the "Domestic Weekend" tab of BoxOfficeMojo https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt15239678/?ref_=bo_se_r_1.
Example: "Dune" (2021) was released on October 22nd. It was in the top 5 ("Rank" column) for its first 5 weekends. On the 6th weekend (Nov 26-28), it dropped to #8.
I will use the 3-day weekends listed by BoxOfficeMojo (e.g. for the original "Dune", it lists the Thanksgiving 5-day, 4-day, & 3-day, and I would use the 3-day).
I will use what BoxOfficeMojo lists for the weekend gross, however that is defined.
If any scenarios for resolution are unclear, please ask.
@traders Dune placed 6th in the weekend of April 5-7. This resolves YES. You can still predict Dune's final box office total!
