Here's the recent announcement—paywalled, but here's the relevant part:
The ShowPlace Icon theater that abruptly closed in Mountain View's Village at San Antonio Center this month appears already to have a new tenant lined up...
The wildly popular Austin-based theater chain Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, known for its dine-in service and indie film screenings, is preparing to move in to the shopping center's anchor movie complex at 2575 California St., as indicated by a recent full-service liquor license application....
IIUC, this is the liquor license they are referring to (for this location).
For this market, "open to the public" means "I can personally buy a ticket".
To be specific, I will count the first date where afterwards, it is continuously open—a single special preview night doesn't count, it needs to be open multiple days in a row (although the market resolves to the first of those days).
If it is not open by the last day in May, it resolves to "Not open by the end of May 2025", even if it's clear that the theater will never open.
I'm using "Alamo Drafthouse" because that's what is rumored—if somehow a different organization reopens a theater in that location, it resolves based on that opening.

The Alamo Drafthouse website is now listing job openings for Mountain View (!!!). However, currently it's only for manager roles (no signs yet of hiring the core staff).

“We couldn’t be more excited to roll out the red carpet for Alamo Drafthouse at the Village at San Antonio Center,” said David Sternberg, west region head of Brookfield Properties. “Their creative approach to both film and food is sure to be a hit with our community in Mountain View, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to their grand opening next spring.”
