The Minecraft Speedrunning Ranked(MSCR Ranked) Playoffs is a $5,000 Minecraft speedrunning tournament, hosted about four times a year. MCSR Ranked is a mod that allows for 1v1 matchmaking with similar-skilled opponents on world seeds specifically filtered to be fast for speedrunning. Players earn a certain amount of phase points from their performance over the 3 months before the tournament; top consistent rankings and a Midseason Showdown tournament(which Hax/Hackingnoises won) all contribute to phase points. The 12 players with the most phase points at the end of the 3 month period(seeds 1-12) are automatically invited to the tournament and seeded based on their phase points, while the 4 remaining players(seeds 13-16) are selected in a very competitive Last Chance Qualifier event.

See image below for the bracket. Higher seeds have a very significant advantage. They are not only likely more skilled players, but also have less matches to play, and in some cases can choose their opponent from the previous round.
