Will the Miami Dolphins end the 2023 regular season with an offense considered Top 5 all time (>1980)?

NO

Miami is averaging the highest EPA/Play per game and highest Offensive DVOA of all time through 3 weeks. Will they end the season with a historically top offense?

Finishing top 5 of team offenses all time on either of these two metrics would resolve to "Yes".

Offensive DVOA

I would also entertain editing to add other proposed metrics that measure offensive efficiency (but will not add a new metric after NFL Week 12 for market integrity) that aren't redundant if suggested.

Using data from https://www.ftnfantasy.com/nfl/tools/team-total-dvoa (which only goes back to 2020, but we don't have to go back to 1980), we already see the Dolphins only have the #6th ranked offensive DVOA in the regular season.

https://rbsdm.com/stats/stats/ (offensive tab), we see 0.095 EPA/play for the Dolphins in 2023, with 3 teams ahead of them. 3 teams have higher than than only in 2022, so they already are not top 5 all time.

No other metrics were suggested (+ I don't think anybody will argue they are a top 5 unit of all time), that this resolves "NO"

predicted YES

FYI - neither data source is visible for me

the first link only shows some filters with an update button

the second link is behind a paywall

@eppsilon If you press the offense tab it will show you offensive EPA for the first one. I think EPA stats can also be accessed elsewhere

I can get the 2nd one behind a paywall, but it's likely that DVOA creator (Aaron Schatz - @ASchatzNFL on twitter) would talk about it if they were (their data goes back to ~1980 I believe).

Also would be open if you have a different metric you think would be interesting to include.
