@DesTiny actually i've heard it's better to brush after eating. Because you brush your teeth before going to bed right, you don't need to brush again right away when you wake up.
@DesTiny Unless you don't brush your teeth before going to bed and that's what's gross. no judgement tho
@DesTiny I brush my teeth before I have a shower and then by the time I eat breakfast I can't taste the toothpaste anymore. Do you wash yourself daily? Self report?
@DesTiny I've heard that if you brush your teeth too soon after eating or drinking something acidic, it can potentially be problematic for your teeth. You need to give the enamel time to remineralize or something.
For me, though, breakfast is sort of optional, while brushing my teeth isn't, so I always brush my teeth in the morning and if I have time, I'll grab some breakfast. Therefore, I typically brush before eating. I generally don't drink orange juice and there's usually a pretty big gap in time, so the flavor issues aren't generally a big deal.
@PatrickAupperle I think it goes both ways you probably shouldn't brush and then drink anything like orange juice or coffee right away after or before brushing your teeth, 30 minutes should be fine to avoid weakening your enamel.
Of course I won't tell you what to do but breakfast shouldn't be optional it's actually the most important meal of the day since it's what will give you the the energy to go through your day. If you're somewhat normal you don't eat while you sleep, after all the night fasting it's important to replenish nutrients supply.
@Simon1551 I'm not sure it does go both ways. The acid weakens the enamel, then the brush scrapes it away. I'm not sure what the opposite issue would be.
Questions about breakfast are complicated from a scientific point of view. I've yet to see proper evidence of the importance of breakfast, and personally, I don't notice a lack of energy on the days I skip it. Thank you for your concern, though
