Metaculus high-level description:
This question will resolve as Banned if, during 2026, TikTok becomes unavailable in the United States for a continuous period of at least 14 days.
This question will resolve as Sold if, during 2026, TikTok is available for download in the United States, and the US-facing part of TikTok is no longer majority-owned by ByteDance and is not considered to be “controlled by a foreign adversary” by the US government.
If neither of the above occur during 2026, this question will resolve as Neither. If both occur, this question will resolve as the one that occurred first.
As of the current deal, only 19.9% will be owned by ByteDance, but 30.1% will be owned by "affiliates of ByteDance." Does that count as majority ownership or not?
