Wopke Hoekstra has been put forward to replace Frans Timmermans as commissioner and lead figure for climate policy of the European Union.
Hoekstra, who worked for McKinsey and Shell in the past and does not have a strong environmental track record but has extensive political experience, will need to show he is fit for the job on October 2, during a hearing with European Parliament.
Will his candidacy be refused by Parliament? This is operationalised as the presence or absence of a request for a second hearing. Not receiving a 2/3 majority backing will lead to such a second hearing.
Resolves YES if Hoekstra is accepted by Parliament (no second hearing is demanded), resolves NO if the EP does object to Hoekstra taking on the role and asks for a second hearing.
Note: this market closes before the hearing.

@Vincent Current update is that he still needs to respond to written questions, which is distinct from a second hearing. So far, the market cannot yet be resolved on the basis of the resolution conditions. Thursday should bring a definitive vote.
I did the stupid thing and had not aligned the title with the criteria. Now changed the criteria so that the resolution is in line with the question title (YES if considered fit by EP, NO if not). @Voidvamp, let me know if this affects your trade!
