FYI: The exam I am preparing for is the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam, which is a key requirement for admission into master's programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other prestigious public colleges in India. Almost 152k students appear for GATE CSE(Computer Science And Engineering) Exam. Syllabus Contains some Computer Science subjects and Aptitude and Engineering math's.
Goal: I am aiming for a Master's in Computer Science Engineering from one of the IITs. To achieve this, I’m targeting a rank under 1,000.
Current Status: The exam is scheduled for February 2025. As of now, I have completed about 30% of the syllabus. I have five months remaining for preparation. Since I’m in my final year of college, I don’t need to attend regular classes, but I do have to dedicate time to my final year projects. I currently study for around 5 hours a day for GATE, and I’m working on increasing this to 10 hours per day.
Reference: Below is the marks vs. rank distribution from last year to give you an idea of what ranks correspond to specific marks:
Rank 1-10: 80+ marks
Rank 10-50: 75-80 marks
Rank 50-100: 72-75 marks
Rank 100-200: 68-72 marks
Rank 200-500: 62-68 marks
Rank 500-1000: 56-62 marks
Rank 1000-2000: 50-56 marks
Rank 2000-5000: 40-50 marks
Rank 5000-10000: 32-40 marks

PS : The results will be announced in March, and I will update the answer then. I'll also provide updates on my syllabus completion and mock exam scores every month. Starting in December and continuing through January, I'll post updates almost every week as I plan to take more mock exams during the final months of preparation.
