Currently the news section which is on the home page of Manifold does not allow hiding topics. This happens even if the closest categories have been hidden by the user. For instance, I've hidden every category I can imagine related to US politics, but "US 2024" is still the first news topic on my front page.

This market resolves as YES, if at close I can permanently hide news tabs on the front page. It resolves NO, if the news section still exists, but it is still impossible to hide topics. It resolves NA if the homepage no longer exists or is sufficiently different that this question is no longer relevant.

This is issue is enough of an annoyance to me that I'm considering no longer using Manifold if this persists. This is obvious functionality that should have existed at launch and which hasn't been implemented in the ~6 months the feature has existed.
