The A321XLR is a long-range narrow-body airliner, originally scheduled in 2019 for delivery in 2021 or 2022, and now scheduled for early 2024. Indigo Partners, the holding company for Frontier Airlines, was one of the first airlines to order A321XLRs, allocating 18 to Frontier.

The A321XLR “will enable us to fly to Europe, Hawaii and deeper into South America,” Frontier CEO Barry Biffle told the Routes World 2022 conference in Las Vegas this week.
Flying transatlantic is “definitely in consideration,” he added.
