๐Ÿ‘… - someone with great taste that identifies the top 1% in a specific domain (music, software, etc.)
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฟโ€๐ŸŽค - someone with great talent/skill that puts you in the top 5% of a specific domain (music, software, etc.)
โญ๏ธ - someone who doesn't want to select any of the two options above

i haven't thought deeply about this one, the question just crossed my mind a couple of seconds ago and I found it intriguing enough to create a poll

I'm already the first one ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I'm having a hard time seeing the dilemma here. Is the difference between 1% and 5% meant to be significant?

@singer I thought it would be, but based on responses till now, maybe I should have chosen 0.1% and 5% - will probably create a follow-up question

@Soli It's also not clear what "taste" is useful for, if anything. I personally do believe in "good taste in literature" in the sense that I think some people have better taste in literature than I do, but still, I'd never exchange any amount of skill in engineering (or writing) for more taste in literature.

@singer i feel that in some ways AI is empowering people who have a good taste but lack the technical skill - i wonder if we reach a point where taste is all that matters - a fashion designer would not have to comeup with the designs themselves as long as they can identify good designs and so on

@singer also there are some domains where i imagine having good taste is more valuable than being top 5% - for example someone who is able to identify top 0.1% of spccer players at a young age is more valuable than someone who is merely top 10% in football
